Monday 11th of April - Botany Bay

I arrived in Sydney yesterday evening. This morning I intended to drive directly to Katoomba, west of Sydney. I was quite close to Botany Bay, and on impulse decided to pay a visit to the Botany Bay National Park.

A wonderful beach!

Wouldn't you want to go for a swim?

Lovely birds flying above me!

...and another type of "bird". Sydney Airport is very close, so I took this great shot, just as the plane is about to land.

A pair of lovely birds.

Wonder what he is thinking, as he is looking at me...?

Sitting still. Wonder if he has noticed me?

Aren't these cute?

He seems to wonder what I am doing...

This butterfly is definitely posing for me!

Heading for Fiji!

This monument marks the place where Captain Cook first arrived in Australia.

The place, as seen from the monument.

An extract from Cook's log book.

I bird, just about to land in this pine tree.

Wonderful yellow colours on this bird!
